Old Injury

It has been over 15 years since I took my 30’ winger off the rocks at Seneca and had reconstructive surgery on my arm. I thought it was about time to make sure everything was still alright and in place. A visit to the Orthopedist this morning confirmed everything is A OK. No chance of getting the hardware removed unless I want to go through about two years of recovery as my bone gets its strength back. If I wanted it the steel out of there, I should have done it no later than 2 years after the surgery. Amazingly there is still some bone floating around in my wrist that has never healed, and will never heal properly. So I have to live with the slight pain and some restricted movement forever which is no problem. I have been doing this for the past 15 years.

Tubeless Update

So, it was a valiant but futile effort by Stan’s NoTubes to seal the 1″ sidewall gash on my 29er. Although it did hang in for another sub 50 minute lap at Fountain Head, I feel riding on it more may be pushing my luck.  Sadly PricePoint will be getting some more of my hard earned $$ to replace my rear tire. I curse you Elizabeth Furnace, curse you to bike damnation. Hopefully I won’t have to get new chain ring any time soon. I tried to straighten a tooth and managed to shear it off. This new bike is getting torn up.
